NURSERY PROPAGATION

A clean start during propagation in the nursery is the first step towards a healthy finished crop. Whether it's softwood cuttings, seedlings, grafted material or tissue culture plantlets, Phyton-27® is an ideal "Partner in Propagation," with all the qualities needed for a successful start.

Propagation is a challenge in nursery production. The long rooting-time increases stress on softwood cuttings and their vulnerability to disease infections. Phyton-27® cleans up mother plants and gets softwood cuttings, seedlings, grafted material and tissue culture plantlets off to a clean, healthy start with none of the adverse affects on rooting associated with other copper products.

Tough on Diseases
Mother plants can harbor lingering diseases - Phyton-27® knocks them out before they are carried to softwood cuttings.

Increased Yield and Quality of Cuttings
Decrease losses due to stress and disease on easy- and tough-to-propagate species.

Systemic
Phyton-27® is absorbed by the plant within hours of application, so it won't be washed off by mist or irrigation.

Gentle on Tender Plant Tissue
Safe on seedlings, softwood cuttings, grafted material, and plantlets coming out of tissue culture.

Successful Grower Results in Nursery Propagation:

An Iowa grower more than doubled his yield of smoke tree cuttings when using Phyton-27®. He has increased his cutting yield to 50 - 60% applying Phyton-27® on this difficult to root species as compared to 0 - 25% yield before using Phyton-27®. Applications are made at a rate of 2 ounces per 10 gallons right after sticking softwood cuttings and reapplied every 10 days until the cuttings are rooted.

A grower from California sprays stock plants of Jasmine polypoides, which are difficult to propagate. One application of 30 ounces per 100 gallons over the top of 1 & 5 gallon Jasmine increased the yield by 20% to almost perfect. The cuttings stayed green and did not lose their foliage or succumb to infection.

A Michigan grower has increased his yield of Azalea liners from 50% to greater than 99%. He uses Phyton-27® at a rate of 20 ounces per 100 gallons – one application on stock plants 1 week before taking cuttings and a second application right after the cuttings are stuck.
